Techniques and Practice: 

  • The rhythm within the body
  • Practicing Classic poses     
  • The ‘how to do’ aspects – techniques
  • Balance between movement and resistance
  • Pranayama ~ breath with mind

Improve your own health and understanding of asanas, alignment,  movement and breath


Teaching Methodology:                                                                

  • Actions and instructions                                                             
  • The art of observing    
  • When and how to adjust 
  • Teaching a class

What instruction to give to get a specific action.  Furthermore, knowing how and what to observe is most relevant in assessing students capabilities and knowing what you need to teach. 


Anatomy and Psychology:

  • Mind and Emotions 

The benefits of supported poses. You will learn their effects on the body and how yoga can be implemented therapeutically for specific issues.


Yoga Philosophy:

  • Niyamas (Personal Observances)  

There are 5 Niyamas given by Patanjali. They bring inner discipline, remove inertia and encourage self restraint.


Intensive Training Module Iyengar Yoga

Intensives for Teacher Development is based on Iyengar Yoga principles. It is designed to compliment and enhance your teaching and knowledge of yoga.  

The Intensive is open to teachers and experienced students of all modalities of yoga 



Jan Watson is your facilitator:

An Intermediate certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher.  Also a senior teacher with Yoga Australia and Yoga Alliance.


In conclusion:

All Yoga equipment is provided. The cost includes accommodation for 5 nights, 5 evening meals, 4 morning juices, brunch on Sunday.  30 hours of yoga sessions.

Lunches are self catered,  there is a downstairs kitchen or eat in Sanctuary’s restaurant.
